| O' Cinco de Mayo |
| O, what was I thinking... O me'o ... O my, o, |
| Offering up a little ditty for Cinco de Mayo |
| I got no time for that, O what was I thinking |
| I had so much to do that I had to give up
blinking |
| Heard a roomer some of yawl been out getting wt |
| You know we wish we were diving, yaa sure, you
bet |
| So you say HEY what about Cinco de Mayo |
| Sorry...I'll buckle down, and give it a try O |
| The way I heard the old story of late |
| People gather together to celebrate |
| The holiday that comes to us, from south of the
border |
| Last year, names, dates and places, I knew them
in order |
| But this year maybe my mind is too full |
| So the historical parts are gonna be bull |
| Some guys were a fight'in now for quite some
while |
| Then they got tired and took a break ... and
they did it in style |
| With cervesa and salsa, rice beans and tequila |
| A few more days off, is what it took to heal ya |
| Then they went back to fightin, all night they
say |
| Giving us all in the future this most festive
holiday |
| My facts as usual may well be found, else where |
| But I hope no one thinks that I just don't care |
| Due respect to the true warriors of the long
ago past |
| As their war stories are the ones that last |
| So on the occasion of this famous days eve |
| I'm here for the corn bread you gotta believe. |
