The Caloosa Dive Club meets every
Thursday except the 4th Thursday of
the month at the Cape Coral Yacht
Club, Tony Rotino Center. We try to hold a
regular business meeting on the
first Thursday of each month. A
dinner is generally planned for the
second Thursday and a guest speaker
or program for the third Thursday.
In a month where there is a 5th
Thursday, we hope to have a program
or speaker from the dive club. On
the program nights, there will be a
very short mini-meeting to cover any
important issues that can't wait for
the business meeting - the time is
usually 7:45-8:00 pm. Check the
calendar for updates or changes to
the meeting schedule.
Meetings are informal, fun
events which include club business
such as minutes, treasurer's report
and planning for upcoming dives and
events. The doors open a half hour
early (7:30 pm) for socializing and
snacks. Club members take turns
bringing snacks to share with
everyone.
Dive Reports are a highlight
of the meeting and everyone has a
chance to talk about their latest
diving adventure at the end of the
meeting.
We are lucky to have a wealth
of diving/marine related resources
in our local area and frequently
feature guest speakers and shows at
meetings. Special trips and classes
may also be scheduled during the
year with events such as Hyperbaric
Chamber visits and CPR training.
We welcome visitors to all meetings.
If you are new to our meetings, ask
around to locate the membership
chairman or an officer so you can
fill out a guest form. After
attending 3 meetings in a 90-day
period, guests are eligible to be
voted in as members by the club.
