There will be a day of “Just for Fun Softball” on Sunday, April 20th at Strausser Park on Cape Coral starting at 9:00 AM. We have reserved a pavilion at the park with a view of the field, which has shade, rest rooms and grills for lunch. The focus here will be on fun. This is not a serious sporting event so leave your cleats at home. This is a co-ed event and teams will be picked at random (names placed in hat) and reshuffled after the first game. We would like this event to benefit a local charity so a voluntary donation will be gratefully accepted but not required.
This Years proceeds will benefit the Harlem Heights Foundation. www.heightsfoundation.org A brief description of which appears below:

MISSION
The Heights Foundation is a grass-roots, hands on organization that provides educational and life-changing opportunities for families in the Harlem Heights community.

HARLEM HEIGHTS
Harlem Heights, Fla. is a small neighborhood located on Gladiolus Drive, between McGregor Boulevard and Summerlin Road in south Fort Myers, Florida. It was settled in the 1940's as a rural farm-working community.

Approximately 400 single family homes, 375 multifamily apartments and 1,200 children.
55 percent Latin, 36 percent African-American and 9 percent Caucasian.
Cape Coral Parks and Recreation has waived the fees for the use of the field, rest rooms and pavilion for this reason. Whatever we raise will be donated in the club’s name. We ask all those attending to bring something to grill, your beverage of choice, and a covered dish to share. (Water and soda will be provided) Bring whatever equipment you have. Bats, gloves, sunscreen or any other items you would like. There are bleachers near the playing field and picnic benches under the pavilion. If you would like something more comfortable, bring it with you. All we are trying to do here is have a great day, outdoors with our friends and fellow club members and enjoy the laughter, food and company that the club generates. Last years event was a success and this year promises to be even better!

For any details, suggestions, contributions, contact Todd Welle at thepointbow@aol.com or, 931-0448 or, see me at a meeting.
