Cardboard Boat Races

It's already that time again - women of the dive club will be building their boat on Wednesday nights starting Feb.6 , 2008 at 6:30 PM  They will be building their boats in a vacant store front, the old Team Title Co, located at 1201 Cape Coral Parkway, on the corner of Cape Coral Parkway & Vincennes Blvd.  Park in the Parking field off of Cape Coral Parkway.  Click here to follow the construction of this fabulous craft.
 
The 2008 races are scheduled for Saturday May 17. More to follow when details are available.
DETAILS
The Caloosa Dive Club took 5 awards in 2007 at the Cardboard boat Race.

1st Place in the most whimsical boat "Pumpkin Head"

Shortest boat to make it around the course paddled by Barry Donegan. The boat "Pumpkin Head".

3rd place for best construction for "Pumpkin Head".

3 rd place fastest speed single paddlers over 55, Bob Miller

Saving the best for last:

With thousands of people voting for the 26 boats entered. The girls boat "Just Clownin' Around" won 3rd place in the peoples choice award. This award was voted upon by all those who were at the event using the Lee County electronic voting machines. Photo of Barry in the Pumpkin by Cheryl Black.
