Events - Mardi Gras Dinner - Photo Contest Fund Raiser

59 members and non members gathered for the photo committee fund raiser, Mardi Gras celebration. Some wore masks and costumes. The night started off with appetizers supplied by the photo committee. Everyone was seated and after a few words from our leader Todd he turned the microphone over to Cheryl Earle, who gave everyone a brief history of Mardi Gras during which time the photo committee served everyone a bowl of delicious gumbo made by our very own Kevin Earle. After everyone had enjoyed their gumbo, a "second line" parade lead by Cheryl Earle, followed by photo committee members danced around the tables tossing beads to everyone. Cheryl continued the parade as each table was called, leading the hungry crowd to the buffet. 
The food was fantastic with Kevin Earle's Jambalaya, Gumbo, Shrimp Fettuccine and Shrimp Creole.  Side dishes included, corn souffle, salad, potato salad, cole slaw, and green beans. Janet, Carmela, Cheryl Earle and Jerri made King Cakes decorated in Mardi Gras green, purple and gold. Don Czech and Linda Smith were the lucky two who found the babies in their cake. Cheryl Earle made a wonderful bread pudding with rum sauce and Carmela did a great job making tasty pralines. It was a great night with great food, Mardi Gras music and friends.
