| Blackbeard Cruise -
Caloosa Style |
| |
| |
On June 12, a
merry band of pirates from the Caloosa Dive Club sailed
away in a Pea Green Boat to Bimini. Maybe it wasn't pea
green, but it was a cozy cruise on a big sail boat.
 The adventurers, Lynnan
Grissinger, Brian Chouiniere, Bob & Janet Miller, Jan
Desch, Bob Waters (another Bob) and Ron & Leslie
Anderson, still carry that tropical glow and report that
it was a fantastic cruise. The food was awesome and
included delectable delights such as roast beef, baked
potatoes, Mahi Mahi, potatoes au gratin and on, and on,
and on. There was also a celebration for birthday girl
Janet Miller, complete with cards and a 2-layer cake. |

There was plenty
to do when not diving - fishing, lounging, eating,
lounging, eating .....We're not sure if it was a
result of a mutiny on board because the food was too
good, but most of the trip to Bimini was made with Ron
Anderson at the helm and apparently Jan Desch in the
hammock that swung from the boom. From the photos we received
for the report, it appears that Lynnan must have tossed
Jan overboard and taken possession of the coveted
hammock at some point.
Over a 6-day period, the group made a total of 18
dives each. |

The diving was adventuresome and on at least 2 of the
dives, the group drifted with a 1-2 knot current on a wall at 85-95'.
The report gets a little fuzzy here with tales of Brian (aka airplane in
flight), Bob Miller (aka Superman) and Lynnan (aka Wonder Woman)
drifting along at blazing speed. Janet says there was lots of sea life
and one very exciting shark dive. They were able to dive 4-5 times
a day with plenty of time for surface intervals and also lots of
snorkeling opportunities.
There were 25 passengers in total and 6 crew in what was described as
"friendly to say the least". And all of that gourmet food came out of a
galley the size of a closet. The group is already talking about
plans for another cruise. |
