Memorial Day Diving - Marathon

2005
Dive Report and photos by Carmela Donegan
The McCord's hosted 10 weekend guests for the Memorial Day Marathon Trip.  On Saturday the group did a morning and afternoon dive. The morning dive was at "Delta Shoals", a local reef that is about 30 feet deep. Visibility was around 15 feet on that dive.  The afternoon dive was at "Manhattan Reef", about 25' deep reef and visibility was improved to around 20 feet.

On Sunday, May 29th we also went out in the morning and the afternoon. The morning dive was at "Sombrero Reef"  -- depth 20 feet and vis around 20 feet.

The afternoon dive was at "Pillar Patch" at Coffin Patch  --depth 22 feet and vis 35 feet.

Sombrero Reef, as always, was probably the favorite dive site.

The weekend group included Carmela and Barry Donegan, Deb and David Headd, Charlie Coleman, Jan Desch, Jan's daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.

Sue McCord & Debbie Headd must have had a good dive - there are plenty of smiles go go around here.

The seas were calm, lots of fish on the reef, beautiful weekend - Everyone had a fabulous time.

Cherri and Gary,

Here's a little more information to go with the pictures.

The seas were calm, good coral growth, lots of fish.     We had a fabulous weekend!

I think the favorite was "Sombrero Reef".     Of course, I went snorkeling while everyone else went diving.

There were 10 weekends guests:  Me and Barry, Deb and David Headd, Charlie Coleman, Jan Desch, Jan's daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.

When I took the picture of the boat with Jan's daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, I believe Jan was next to her son-in-law but you can't see her in the picture.
