Why are Janet, Michelle & Cherri
smiling? With 13 divers on board the Ibis for the Dania Beach dive, only
3 women divers showed up where they were pampered and treated like
queens for the entire day. Well, that part might be a tiny exaggeration
but when Walter Wilt produced the heat pack at the end of the second
dive, it felt that way!
The day was perfect, seas calm and
no current. Water temperature was 73 degrees at 93 feet on the wreck of
the Mercedes. Visibility was good. We'd love to complain about something
but can't find anything we didn't enjoy.
We dove the wreck of the Mercedes
for the first dive and a very nice coral reef/ledge for the second dive.
We were entertained by huge numbers of Creole Wrasse that appeared to be
performing a mating dance ritual around the Mercedes. Janet & Bob Miller
discovered a very large Moray Eel on the reef and it seemed happy to
pose for any photographer who stopped by to chat.
Brian (and possibly Michelle?)
rescued a few lobster from the dangers lurking under water with plans to
relocate them to a nice bath in warmed butter.
The crew of the Ibis , Southeast
Oceanic Services (www.divefortlauderdale.com)
took care of us and helped squeeze the most enjoyment out of a winter
Saturday afternoon.
