March 29, 2008 was Opening Day for the Spear-fishing
Contest.
On
this day 2, count them 2 boats and their captains went
somewhere out WEST. WEST of where you say, they (the
captains) say somewhere out WEST of here, not there, and
they would not say.
The first captain, Captain 1 Ron and his crew, Dan
Maloney and Kevin Bennett, caught a couple of grouper, a
few Hogfish and even more Snapper, or should I say
“A BIG MAC DADDY” Snapper, somewhere over 5 pounds.
During their trip and while someone was diving, we don’t
know who at this time, a couple of crew members decided
to go fishing. An to their surprise they were able to
reel in 2 Kingfish.
The
second Captain. Captain Rich and his crew, “Big Stick”
Bob Sofranko, “The old Master” Yoda (Jim) Hall”, “Baby
Killer” get your eyes fixed Guy Willin and “Young Spear”
(Young Buck) Bobby Johnson (Captain Rich’s Son). While
somewhere out WEST, they were able to catch 9 Grouper
and 9 Snapper. Not only did they catch Quantity but they
caught Quality. However you won’t know this until the
Spear Board makes its debut.
Needless to say, But I will say, the WEATHER was DARN
RIGHT AWFUL, NO WIND, FLAT CALM SEAS, VISIABILTY OF 35
TO 50 FEET and a WATER TEMPERATURE THAT WOULD KEEP A
COLD BEER COLD ON A HOT SUNNY DAY, (69 DEGREES), BURRR.
All had a great day of fun, comradery and even a few
fish to cook when they got home.
Happy Hunting from the Spear-fishing news Guy, get it,
got it. Until next time………
