All
who attended the dive this weekend had a great time. We
happened to bunk up with Cherri and Gary who
unfortunately do to illness weren't able to dive, but
immensely enjoyed their vacation time together over the
weekend. We wish them a speedy recovery for their next
venture, the Wreck Trek.
This weekend we dove the Abyss, the Christ Statue. We
never dove the statue but snorkeled it a long time ago
with our kids and enjoyed it just the same. Our next
dive was at, Snappers Ledge, where the Trumpet fish were
out in the masses, you'd think it was mating season or
something there were so many, at one time I counted 11
of them perpendicular to the reef). LOL.
Along with the Trumpet fish we saw a Golden tail Moray
playing with a Rock hind, Flamingo Tongues and a large
Southern Sting ray. We even at one point saw a Barry and
Carmela fish (picture attached), a rare species only
seen on club dives.
Then we were at North North Dry Rocks where we took
in the beautiful color of the coral, a 3 foot Porcupine
fish, Queen Angels and even some Gray Angels. Then we
came across the LARGEST DONKEY DUNG we had ever seen,
(Sea Cucumber). As we were traveling through the
coral we happen to come upon a Scrawled File fish and a
large Ocean Trigger fish traveling at warp speed.
Our next dive was the Pillar Patch at Pickles Reef.
We had a great time there, and again we saw Queen and
Gray Angel fish, along with Flamingo Tongues, a
Balloon fish, a Yellow Sting ray, a Ocean Trunk
fish, a Rock Beauty, a Scrawled Cow fish, a Smooth Trunk
fish and a Rough File Clam, the first time I every saw
one of them.
I don't think I left out anything other than, enjoy
the pictures.
P.S. I challenge all those picture taking divers on
this trip to send there pictures in too. We would enjoy
seeing what you saw too.
