On Sunday, Brian & Lynnan Chouiniere, Jim & Margie
Elkins, Bob & Janet Miller & Lynne Casey headed to
Williston in North Florida. We stopped at and dove in
The Blue Grotto, a fresh water cavern. The water was 72
degrees & it was cold with the wind chill in the 50's.
For some it was their first fresh water dive.
Then it was onto Homosassa Springs. After dinner we all
huddled in a hotel room to watch the Steelers beat the
Seahawks.
Next morning it was 37 degrees & we headed out to our
rented pontoon boat. We were going snorkeling with the
manatees. Found a spot where they were all herded up. We
were in the water for about 2 hours checking out the
huge creatures.
After a short boat ride to another spot we found
another heard of monster Manatee's The temp was now in
the low 70's what a great day. Even if you don't like
Manatee's. It was exciting to snorkel with these gentle
giants. They would come over to you & you could rub
their backs They would roll over for a gentle rub of
their stomachs. They loved, it just like a large puppy
dog.
It was back to the Marina, Lunch & home. Here is
hoping that we will gather a few more club member for
next years trek, making it an annual club sponsored
event. |
